Christopher Wallace, also known as Biggie Smalls or The Notorious B.I.G., was an American rapper, born on May 21, 1972, in Brooklyn, New York. He was raised in the poor Brooklyn neighborhood of Bedford-Stuyvesant. Biggie Smalls was a revered hip-hop artist and face of East Coast gangsta rap. He was shot and killed on March 9, 1997.

• Biggie Smalls was anything but small. He stood at 6 feet 3 inches (1. 91 m) and weighed 300 to 380 lb (140–170 kg).
• The alias "Biggie Smalls" comes from the 1975 movie Let's Do It Again starring Sidney Porter and Bill Cosby. A character in the movie played by Calvin Lockhart was "Biggie Smalls," and was the leader of a group of gangsters.
• Before ruling the streets, Biggie was a good student, earning A grades.
• Biggie, Jay-Z, and Busta Rhymes all attended the same high school in downtown Brooklyn: Westinghouse Career and Technical Education High School.
• Biggie's first recording deal was in 1993 with Uptown Records.
• Biggie had two kids, a boy and a girl.
